Pleomorphic undifferentiated sarcoma ( RID4305 )
Pleomorphic undifferentiated sarcoma was formally known as malignant fibrous histiosarcoma. Initially diagnosed as prepatellar hemorrhage in this patient. There was a language barrier and no history of prexisting mass. It is the most common soft tissue sarcoma of late adult life. The histomorphology is characterized by high cellularity, marked nuclear pleomorphism, usually accompanied by abundant mitotic activity and atypical mitoses witha spindle cell morphology. Necrosis is common. The five-year survival ranges from 35 to 60%. This patients tumor has recurred after 7 months (not shown). [ Article ]
