tumor-like lesion of bone ( RID3944 )
We have no prior shoulder imaging. There is a bioabsorbable anchor fragment displaced into the distal supraspinatus (red arrow) with increased intrasubstance signal within the tendon surrounding the anchor, but no tear (it is short interval post-op, so some signal may be related to recent surgery). One of the anchors tracks into an intermed-dark T1, heterogeneously bright PDFS lesion in the humeral head which is indeterminate but may be neoplasm. Clinical note indicates obesity, smoking, alcohol use, chronic pain and mentions a breast lesion for which biopsy was recommended. I am trying to reach the referrer and assume there will be pre operative images I hope to obtain. Lacking prior images, how should this be managed? Straight to biopsy?
