calcaneofibular ligament ( RID3023 )
This is the 2nd case ever that Ive seen that has a CFL tear with an intact ATFL. I think the white arrow in slide 3 shows a small cortical avulsion at the calcaneal insertion. I believe there is a superimposed retinacular injury, but I need some anatomic clarification. It looks like there is too much soft tissue thickening and edema superficial to the peroneals; is this a superior or inferior peroneal retinacular injury? Or neither? Seems to be somewhere in between.
