There is peroneus longus tendinosis, tenosynovitis and adjacent erosion of bone at the cuboid peroneal groove, with reactive bone marrow and surrounding soft tissue edema? What causes erosion of bone adjacent to tenosynovitis? This article about bone erosion in RA says osteoclasts populate the interface between inflammatory synovial tissue and periarticular bone.
