lateral hindfoot impingemnet
The patient has pes planovalgus with post tibial tendinosis and partial tear (aqua arrow). There is progressive lateral subluxation of the calcaneus at the subtalar joint, with resultant calcaneofibular impingement. There is remodeling and marrow edema at the fibular tip with subfibular soft tissue thickening/edema. Often there is peroneal subluxation, but the SPR is intact and peroneals are located in this case. The sinus tarsi synovitis and reactive marrow edema at the lateral talar tubercle and calcaneus (sag images) are characteristic. [ Article ]
