popliteus calcific tendinitis
The calcific deposit was originally misinterpreted as a loose body in the recent knee radiographs. On MRI the dark signal calcific deposit within the popliteus tendon partially erodes into the popliteal sulcus of the lateral femoral condyle, with marked marrow and surrounding soft tissue edema. This is a rare site of Calcium Hydroxyapatite Deposition with only a few reported case.
