posterior ankle impingement
There is an unstable os trigonum (fluid signal courses through widened synchondrosis between the posterior talar process and os). But there is also a chronic non-united fracture of the posterolateral talus, which may be related to the PTFL origin, seated in the posterolateral recess of the ankle. Symptoms are all Posterior Ankle impingement. There is chronic ATFL rupture. There are anteromedial impingement spurs (relatively small). Ive attached Luis Cerezals article, which has fabulous MR artho, arthroscopic correlation and amazing illustrations. [ Article ]
