Discussion

67 y/o with congenital scoilosis presents with pain. In this case there are 2 pedicles on the left side and a single pedicle on the other producing a wedge shaped vertebral body that is a combination of L4 and L5. Is this unilateral failure of segmentaion or unilateral failure of formation or are they the same? In the article included the tripedicle vertebra is included in the spectrum of segmentation anomalies in figure 19. See photo. Reference article.
