Discussion

There is mild achilles tendinosis and moderate retrocalcaneal bursal inflammation. Question is about the component superficial to the posterolateral calcaneal. I think it is continuous with the bursa. Can the retrocalcaneal bursa extend so far laterally and superficially? Or does this suggest something else? Would you consider nodular synovitis? Would you consider an inflammatory arthropathy?

Diagnosis

retrocalcaneal bursa ( RID3217 )
