Discussion

Complete chronic ligamentum teres tear and hip instability. Complete tear of the ligamentum teres in the perifoveal region and increased articular distraction on MR-arthrography with leg traction system (8 Kg). Note also a small partial chondrolabral detachment. The patient was initially arthroscopically treated (ligamentum teres debridement and capsular plication) without clinical improvement. One year before an arthroscopically ligamentum teres reconstruction was performed (fascia lata graft).
This technique remains experimental and is limited to patients with high demands and persistent hip instability after conventional arthroscopic treatment. Reference article.
